Bio
In Phoenix, where the city’s industrial edges meet the vast desert, Cesar Soberanes was born and raised. Growing up amidst the raw textures of the Southwest, including weathered concrete, rusted metal, and sun-bleached wood, he developed a deep connection to materials that age and change with time. This early exposure to both natural and industrial textures would go on to shape his work.
In 2023, Soberanes earned his Associate’s degree in Art Education from Phoenix College. He is currently pursuing a BFA at Arizona State University, where he continues to develop his approach to making and expand the conceptual scope of his work. Alongside his studio practice, Soberanes is preparing for a career in art education, aiming to support and mentor emerging artists.
